House in Alentejo

Making Off

The Inspiration

For this project I were originally inspired by real photos from around the world. After a lot of research around the web i find out some really cool inspirations for lighting, vegetation and materials.

 So let’s start!

When beginning a project the first tthing to do is always adjust the settings of the gamma and units that i always i use meters.

I always put my gama 2.2 as it shows in the  image in the 3d studio max preferences.

In Vray settings i always use 2.2  and Reinhard .

Modeling

I’ve started the house modeling using the dwg drawings as references, nothing special in the

modeling i draw the splines following the top draw to make the entire walls.

After i get the basic structure with Splines i begain extrude it.

Now i make edge loop in the walls to define the windows and doors. At this point is I begain the modeling  of the structure details by using the dwg references!

Here is a detail of the windows.

And finally with everthing modeled and put in his position i got the final house model.

Environment

For the grass i use the R & D Group and for the trees i used a model created by me using the Atree Script you can found here : http://www.avizstudio.com/tools/atree3d/

here is the model of olive that I modeled and textured

Here is the model of cork that I modeled and textured grass and flowers that i use in this project

The next step is to spread them through all the scenario using the multiscatter. I want to give you advice when you want  create a realistic scene, attempt to create a mini eco-system of plants, areas where a plant is more dense and another that is more mixed with rocks or other type od vegetation, etc.

Lighting setup

For the lighting of the scene  I use only 1 dome light with HDRI map to iluminate  the enti scene.

This is the hdri i use to iluminate the entire scene

POSTPRODUCTING

For this project postproduction was a important role  to insert the elements (people, animals).

Raw Render

Now the first thing to do is  to insert all the 2d elements that i want, in this case people cathing the olives, the sheeps, horse and a few birds.

After addind the animals pass

Filters and final touches

To finalizate the image now i add curve and levels filter and i adjust it to give more brightness to the image.

Finally i add a chromatic aberration and a vignette to the image, adjust the gamma level and i create a subtil  god rays effect from where the sun brightness  cames.
